2007 - 2008 format seventh season

The Candlepin Challenge is a one-hour program to be aired on Cn8 The Comcast Network, channel 3 in most areas, twice a week. New shows will run on Saturday’s at 11:00am followed with a rerun on Sunday afternoons at 5:00pm.

The show will remain a King of the Hill format open to men and women 18 or older, with two challengers bowling a one game match with the loser receiving $150.00.  The winner moves on to a two game match against the current champion.  Weekly champions will be decided by highest two games total, the loser of this match will receive $200.00. Champions will receive $300.00 and remain in their position until they are defeated. Once a bowler appears on the show they must sit out one taping session. The bowlers taping the last four shows of the season do not have to sit out the first taping of the next season.

The final show:  The format will remain the same as the other 32 weeks except for the prize fund. The loser of the challenger match will receive $1,000, the championship match runner up will receive $2,500, with the winner getting $5,000.

The show will tape on Sunday’s starting at about 10:00am to 4:30pm.  Tapings will be held at the Woburn Bowladrome.

A triple strike pool of $1000.00 for the season will be split amongst any and all bowlers who hit a triple strike. If the pool is not hit it will carry over to the next season. Junior bowlers bowling on the kids shows will not be eligible for the triple strike pool.

Bonus money: Three marks in a row will be worth $50.00 with another $50.00 for every consecutive mark after three in a row. All marks must be in the same game. Junior bowlers bowling on the kids shows will not be eligible for bonus money.

For each show we will take two bowlers from the final roll off to appear on TV. We will have seven regular tapings with a separate taping just for the final show. Each taping will produce four TV shows, which means we must have four finals per taping.  Please keep in mind these dates and locations are tentative, some dates may change due to scheduling conflicts.
